Jim Shore grew up in rural South Carolina. His artistic parents instilled a love of the traditional values expressed in American folk art. His grandmother was a master quilter who gave him an appreciation for intricate Early American quilt designs. Jim Shore's unique style of applying elements of folk art. quilt patterns and rich jewel toned colors to traditional themes creates a charming and innovative American country decor statement for the home. Seen in all his collectible are designs from quilting, rosemalling, applique and flat perspective folk art that make each piece unmistakably Jim Shore.
For each of Jim Shore's new creations, a detailed drawing is given to a group of master sculptors who then produce clay molds that are sent to Jim for approval. Molds are made from these original sculptures and products are cast in Polyresin. Each piece is then hand-painted and finished by artists using Jim Shore's own folk art techniques. The attention to detail and Jim Shore's personal involvement in the entire process ensure products have a quality and level of detail that is unique in the industry.
